COVID CHALLENGE
Because of the unprecedented events we currently find ourselves in, the committee have come up with a temporary solution which will run for the remainder of the
2020 season.
The following changes will only take place if we can get the agreement of the various golf clubs we are playing during our tour.
We hope this will enable the society to compete in a challenge and make the most of a bad situation.
The Championship & Leagues,
are Cancelled for this season.
Instead we will operate a Dogs V Loft rolling Stapleford challenge, handicaps carried over from 2019 and will be adjusted via HandicapMaster from July onward.
Tour match day winner will have 1 stroke permanent H/cap cut as per normal rules, but No temp high score penalty cuts.

The two squads will be selected from the players that participated in 2019.
All other players that did not play in the 2019 challenge will be allocated into either a Dogs or Loft squad to keep squad sizes even.
1/ All games will be played 1v1 in 4 ball Stapleford format, each squad player & opponents name will be pre-drawn by the committee.
2/ Match day Tee off times will be issued to each pairing before your game day.
3/ There will be No nearest pin challenge.
Matchday winners trophies will be given out at our end of season presentation. ***(Hopefully)***
4/ Recommended.
Once all your playing group have reached the green, it might be best to allow each player to putt out to a finish.
This way we won't stand too close to each other on the green.
5/ Flag poles are not to be touched/removed. Any normal speed (not a whack) regular putt which hits the centre of the cup, strikes the flag pole and rolls away because of the hole protection, and comes to rest closer than a standard putter grip length away...if agreed by your group may be deemed as holed and count in.
6/ Preferred lie in bunker, mark the ball spot, lift ball, smooth the sand area, replace ball and play shot.
All bunkers will be in play, unless the course has declared them GUR.
Because there will be no rakes available, this is the committee agreed action.
7/ Score cards should not be swapped ?,
but scores should be noted on both cards and agreed at the end of your game.
Honesty is Important.
Hand all score cards in to the committee at the end of your round.
At the end of season we will have
1 Dogs & 1 Loft winner.
Also the Challenge Trophy to the winning squad.
******IMPORTANT NOTE******
All of the above will be totally dependent on All Players complying with the required advance booking of your attendance and prepaying your match day fee.
Match day course fees may be adjusted to account for loss of food.
