Dunton Orchard Golf Society

New Triple League rules for the ……2026 Season

To be read in conjunction with our Matchday 2026 rules.

All current and new players will be divided into Three Leagues.

All Leagues will operate on a Stableford Points accrued monthly basis and rolling playing Handicap changes.

League qualification… is dependent on your range of playing Handicap ability.

Any current, new or returning Society member without a previously issued handicap, will enter into the appropriate league based on the playing handicap given to us, until reassessed and a handicap issued according to our system based HandicapMaster CONGU system software, which will be held in our ongoing record base.

Any current/returning society player with a WHS-EGU handicap, will start the season with their previously assessed and issued Society handicap from the last season played.

All Handicaps may be reviewed and/or re-adjusted prior to our new season starting.

St. Andrews League.. Will contain players within the playing handicap range of 0<>17

Belfry League.. Will contain players within the playing handicap range 18<>22.

Wentworth League.. Will contain players with a playing handicap range of 23<>36.

There may be a few players on the cusp of handicap changes placed into a higher or lower league, this is to enable the amount of players per league to remain fairly even.

The aim is to generate interest in Winning your own playing League against players of similar playing standards of golfing ability, with an equal chance to become the overall Society Champion at the end of the season dependent on the Stapleford points you have scored.

Promotion or Relegation.

You will Not change Leagues during the season. (Except for new members without an initial starting Society handicap).

This will be determined at the end of the playing season according to your individual handicap ability fitting into one of the 3 League handicap ranges.

                                  _______________________________________

If a player only misses 1 match of our 8 tour matches, all 7 other scores recorded will be counted towards his final league and championship total.

BUT

Any player completing the full 8 Tour games without missing a match, will have the lowest points score recorded discounted from their final season score. Only the best 7 scores from 8 recorded will count as the final total.

This will allow for a 1 match absence without affecting your overall season League position too much but also incentive to attend all games..

                          --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Every pre-paid player will be entered into a tour game by a pre-drawn blind draw for 3 or 4 ball playing groups, an arrival & starting Tee time will be issued prior to match day to all entered players.

Stableford point scoring according to your rolling Society Matchday handicap.

A match day winner would be determined by which individual player has the most Stableford points achieved on the day.

 ____________________________________________________________________________________________

At the end of the season we would have

Three League Winners, but only One Society Champion.

Our final tour match each season will see the highest placed scoring players regardless of leagues, play together in a 4 ball group challenging for the top honours.

The Society Champion will be decided by the player with the greatest amount of Stableford points gained during the season by an individual based on 7 recorded scores.

In the event of an overall Stableford tie between players to determine any major League or Championship place or position, the following rules will apply >>>>>>>>>

1/  The player with the better attendance record during the season will be granted the Higher position.

2/  If rule 1 fails to provide an outright result then this will apply >>>>>> The player with the best head to head scores over his opponent at the various tour venues played during the season will be granted the Higher position due to the greater consistency in his play.

3/  If rule 1 or 2 do not find an outright result, there will be a playoff between all involved players, the date will be determined by the Committee and must be concluded before our presentation day.
